Camp Shelor, co-founder of Penzance Productions, has been on a musical journey for over a decade. He picked up the guitar at the age of 12, but it wasn’t until later that he discovered his passion for creating music, particularly delving into the intricacies of music theory.
Camp first met Trent through mutual friends to help compose for their local band. From there, their musical relationship has grown tremendously.
His college studies deepened his understanding of musical analysis and composition, emphasizing the importance of structured compositions. Camp’s academic background includes a Master of Science in Music Psychology, allowing him to tap into the emotional impact of music and apply it effectively in various media projects.
Camp draws inspiration from a wide range of musical genres and artists, from classical composers like Claude Debussy, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Ludwig von Beethoven, to modern talents such as Tennis, Sofía Valdés, and Ben Folds. He also has a soft spot for timeless classics like the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and James Taylor.

Trent Walker
Meet Trent Walker, co-owner and composer at Penzance Productions, where he collaborates with partner Camp Shelor. Trent is a Music graduate of Birmingham Southern College. Here he would meet Camp and the two bonded over a mutual love for jazz music, comedy, and entrepreneurship. This initial connection evolved into a deep and lasting musical partnership that extends into his solo and collaborative work.
Trent is not just a composer; he possesses a profound understanding of audio hardware and software. His extensive experience as Birmingham Southern’s lead audio tech and as an assistant technician at Birmingham’s Big Friendly Productions has granted him expertise in synthesizers, euroracks, effects pedals, digital music production, and mastering. His live event experience equips him with the knowledge needed for pristine, high quality recordings.
Trent’s compositions draw inspiration from a diverse range of musicians, including Keith Jarrett, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Parliament, and Canned Heat. His musical influences infuse his work with a unique and captivating blend of styles ranging from pop to rock to hip hop; psychedelic, jazz, noise, orchestral, country, surf, and everything in between.
